Every day, you can watch a fantastic spectacle of nature when the morning and evening sun shines on the impressive rocks of the Erongo Mountains. These rocks seem to literally glow and shine with dazzling colors.

After 1.5 hours drive you will find yourself right in the middle of these magnificent mountains. Ameib Ranch is located at the edge of the Erongo Mountains. Here you can walk several trails and be impressed by the diverse stone formations. Visit the Phillip’s Cave and discover interesting and clearly visible rock paintings by the San ("Bushmen"), like the famous white elephant. At Bull’s Party, you can observe massive, spherical rocks as well as the huge elephant’s head.

For a hike on Ameib, you will need comfortable, sturdy shoes, sunblock and lots of water.
